Masseter

The masseter muscle is responsible for chewing and is often overactive in individuals who grind or clench their teeth (bruxism). This can lead to jaw tension, headaches, and in some cases contribute to migraine symptoms.

Botulinum toxin reduces excessive muscle activity to relieve clenching and associated discomfort. In addition, gradual muscle relaxation can soften a square jawline, resulting in a slimmer lower face contour, particularly noticeable in women.

FAQs

What does Masseter Botox actually do?

It relaxes the jaw muscle, reducing teeth grinding and jaw tension, and gradually slimming the lower face as the muscle reduces in size.

When does the slimming effect show?

Therapeutic relief (less tension, less grinding) sets in within 1 to 2 weeks. Visible jaw slimming takes 4 to 8 weeks as the muscle gradually reduces.

How long does it last?

4 to 6 months. With repeated treatments, results often extend longer as the muscle naturally reduces.

Will it affect chewing?

No. You may notice slightly less jaw strength initially, but normal eating is unaffected.

Is there downtime?

None. Mild soreness for 1 to 2 days is possible, similar to after exercise.

What's included in the price?

Our flat-rate covers all units needed for both sides. No surprises.

Who performs the treatment?

All treatments at HALO are performed by licensed physicians.
